Finally took a picture of it. It’s cool things like this that are going to make me miss this city. What’s cool in your town?

You’re moving?
I guess something that really makes me happy is looking at the Converse sneakers that are painted on the houses on the way to the airport. It reminds me I’m leaving and it shows me I’m arriving

Yeah, in a week and a half. Should be exciting.
That’s pretty cool. Are there other colours?

Yes, many others... I don’t know how those ended up being painted, but we always point at them whenever we use Circuito Interior. I can’t find any pictures on google images, but only on street view
Where are you moving?

Cool. I’m kind of interested in whether it’s just graffiti or if the homeowners do it themselves.
Down to Regina for a few months. So not terribly far. It’ll be a good adventure, though.

So, this is our local ice cream shop. Known for some delicious ice cream served in very large portions. This is the banana split (you can kinda make out the banana burried under 3 scoops of ice cream).

I think that the home owners were probably paid by the shoe maker to put it up.... it might be corporate sellout but I’d rather see a cool converse than “El BRYSTAN COJE PRRASLOLXDXD” written on the walls of many buildings.
We have an issue with graffiti... even when Banksy came to Mexico in the 90s to protest with EZLN most of his work was lost because assholes think they’re better
Incidentally “Assholes think they’re better” was half of the reason EZLN even happened... the other half was rampant racism by the Federal Gov but I digress

Yeah, that sounds about right.
I’m a sucker for good street art and graffiti. Any schmuck can write their name in bubble letters, but there’s a lot of stuff that I’ve seen that’s really impressed me.

Here in suburbia, no real murals, but we have amazing places like a 350-acre nature preserve with rocks that show some of the oldest erosion in the world. The result are cool and also create some very technical climbing areas. I’ve run into Canadians, Germans, and French people while climbing here in AL.
This one isn’t great for climbing, but the hole is amazing. About 6’ high inside, totally from water erosion from way back when Hudson Bay and the Gulf of Mexico were connected. This was once a tropical beach:

Hey, cool stuff doesn’t have to be just murals. And that’s pretty cool. Makes me miss living in Ontario (well, almost) due to the Canadian Shield and how rocky Georgian Bay is.

Thanks to some major infection on my pancreas, sugar is no longer an option for me. But, damn, they have this root beer malt that is absolutely divine. The flavor of the root beer is so minor that even non-root beer fans can enjoy.

Yikes, that’s shitty. I’m sorry to hear that.
I’m a root beer fan, so any amount of root beer flavour is a good amount for me.

I’m getting to see a lot of murals lately too, specially on the side of buildings (when they don’t have windows) it seems like they’re having a pretty big moment world wide right now

Philly has lots of cool murals all over the city thanks to an arts program dedicated solely to them .

Well, I live in Delaware now, so..., umm, there’s a bunch of chickens and, um, some chemical plants. Oh, and fields, a surprising amount of empty fields.

We have lots and lots of cool murals and stuff in our area. A lot of them are military themed because of the large number of of military bases in our area.

don’t worry about those empty fields...they’ll build a strip mall or new homes on them soon enough. They won’t be happy until there are no trees and half empty strip malls everywhere. Sounds like Sussex County if you got chickens.

Belo Horizonte got a lot of those big murals recently, due to a city sponsored festival last year. I personally love them, and they are illuminated at night as well

Lower Kent, but I work primarily in Sussex. I don’t know haw many trees are left to take out, really. Always surprised how common it is to just plunk a new house or a whole new development down in a field and not even plant a single tree for shade or windbreak. I haven’t seen that happen on this scale really anywhere else.

They plant one tree in the front yard, I think it’s mandatory. I lived in upper Kent in the neighborhood directly south of the HD dealer off of Rt.1 around 10 years ago. That was an old potato farm...I was the 4th house built. I have mostly floated around New Castle County most of my life so connections brought me back this way. My son lives in Dover so I frequent the area. The congestion in NCC is maddening at times and it makes me miss slower lower...sometimes...

I have to tell you, if that’s code, it is not being enforced down south. Lots of big doublewides in the middle of big open fields with nothing between them and their neighbors, and not a tree or shrub taller than a blade of grass.

I think it’s rule for new construction developments...plopping a house on land you’d only need a CO after a few inspections. I’ve witnessed a few new construction projects in wooded and high dollar areas keep as many existing trees as possible..but mostly they level everything. Just about everything below the canal is flat and farm land aside from a few miles of swampy coast.
